...warm weather... about 100 people are sitting, lying, talking, eating, or just standing to look at the city... the green copper dome of the Roman Catholic church in Highgate is reflecting the last of the sunset... it looks so different from the churches with steeples - and it embodies a vast difference that still exists between Mediterranian and Northern European cultures...
... (north or south of the Alps, close to the warmth of the sun or struggling to live in colder climates, around fires... with classical calm or with romantic imagination...)...
...but the two radio transmission towers that one can see from the heath, they don't reflect geography or culture but a scientific extension of nature... (there is of course as much science in building a dome, a steeple, as in erecting a radio mast, but the resultant forms clearly reflect vast cultural differences... (though the radio tower could said to ignore culture in the old sense)...
21:37 near to random point 4: wooded valley
west of Viaduct Pond - a grassy slope where rabbits come out to graze at dusk... there are 7 of them about 20m away from where i am setting...
i can hear various whistling sounds but i don't know if they are caused by birds, bats or other small animals...
a man and a woman walk by and all but one of the rabbits run into the undergrowth... the two people crouch to look at the remaining rabbit who is still feeding ... until it too runs away... and now the people have gone and single rabbit is back where it was...
...and as i strain to focus my eyes in the dusk i see several large winged insects flying towards the trees while the other rabbits return and continue feeding...
