east of Kenwood / new life
a cool summer evening after a warm day... tired after staying awake until 4am to finish reading The Great Gatsby to the end... i'd like to consolidate this new beginning (via Paradigm Workbook and other recent intuitions) but I feel fit only for things physical... so now to walk!
...i walked slowly through a wood and acress meadows to the tumulus: sitting now on seat 6 - which corresponds with my sixth decade aged 50 to 59, 1977-86 - years of leaving organised life and beginning on my own, or in the marginalised fringes...
...so what were the causes intentions of those changes from the conventional to the new, from security to what seemed to others like danger, even madness... ('when you went mad' said a good friend recently)....
...i think the label 'mad' is most inaccurate for I was often enjoying that new life (of poetic writing and performance) free of the committees and other such constrictions that kept me in conflict, sleeplessness, and symptoms of breakdown if i stayed in the kinds of organisation, tied to money...
...but it was the social system that was 'mad', and still is... and my leaving it for freedom without resources was a wisdom, akin to the life of the recluse, or outsider, who reluctantly chooses to break the economic ties...
...and what now, two decades later, is there a difference...
...yes I'm pleased to say there is...in this simple presence of this website, or public writing place and the many things more that so unpredictedly came of selfirganising networks and the readmittance of everyone to public life...
...so now, very briefly before darkness, what IS the new life, the new way to be numerous?
...at which all who read this are invited to react and to enjoy this new freedom
