online: 10 april 2011 modified: 2, 10 april 2011 1 april 2011 an evening walk in space
beside a city forest
...evenings are now late enough for walking...
...some trees have been cut down... for reasons i do not know... the sky is cloudy white and grey... birds chirp and chatter while a slow-moving group (of three adults and one infant, two identical dogs, and a pram) seems absorbed in conversation... and then a solitary man runs by with all his fingers outstretched...
...the day continues and the surrounding trees and mansion simply continue to occupy space... and to create it... as a visibly entity bounded by earthly objects and unbounded by the sky...
...now there is no one in sight... but crows and smaller birds keep up what we might take for conversation... two women walk by arm-in-arm, one talking one silent... and a man dressed for running walks across the lawn...
...i walk inside a tall fir tree whose lower branches touch the ground to form a cave-like space with bower-like glimpses of the less bounded space outside... and as i sit down outside to write this paragraph a man asks if i have a light but i do not have one... he laughs in a friendly way and continues his walk as i continue writing...
...but not for long... for soon i walk again...
