online: 31 may 2011 modified: 22, 31 may 2011 22 may 2011 run walk and sit
in a park
(16:04 starting time of someone who is running and walking to a fitness programme)...
...i sit and watch people passing by...for exercise and for being in natural or semi-natural surroundings... on a windy sunday afternoon beneath atlantic clouds moving quickly across the sky...
...smiling woman with white dog and slow-moving man...
(16:15 ...timing of lap 1 by run-and-walker)...
...then two slow-moving women... other walkers move slowly down the secret valley... sound of strong winds in the trees... and a scene of birches and ash trees now approaching full bloom and leaf...
(16:21 lap 2... still swiftly running but puffing a bit)...
....sound of a child crying or protesting in the houses behind me... here at the edge of both forest and city... a couple running swiftly east to west and in step and to the same rhythm...
...these are the movements of humanity and nature... the dynamic of all that is... in continuous movement...
...a fast-walking woman with two white dogs on red leads and two children with small bicycles criss-crossing to path as they go...
(16.30 lap 3... looking settled into fairly tough running?)...
...and now no one... but the wind and these words... and perhaps a million leaves swaying in the wind...
... people continue to pass by unrecorded as i become aware of the wild grass already flowering (or is it seeding?)... as rays of sunlight shine through the leaves onto the ground... and on other leaves... they shine even onto the touch screen...
(16.20 lap 4... looking tired now and half-exhausted)...
and having sat here (without moving anything but head and hand) i sit up and resume the spontaneous movement that is inhibited by the body-fixing action of writing (with or without a handheld)...
(16:42.5 ...run-and-walker stops... and then performs after-run stretching... of the main muscles)
