at Seven Sisters ponds
a chance process selects a path from the Great Wall at the northern edge of the heath to Parliament Hill at the southern edge...
...sitting here for a few minutes is gradually releasing me from fatigue of an inactive day... inspired by the stillness and the soon-to disappear greenness of leaves and water reeds... and tiny plants that grow on the water surface itself... now immobilised by vegetation as well as by absence today of water birds and insects... a small bird whistles about six notes and then stops... i whistle too... and a medium sized bird flies across the pond from south to north...
after half an hour here the stillness continues... except for a mosquito now visiting my face and hands... and a water bird's quack... and now i continue the walk towards the southern edge... (which i may not reach before darkness)...
...arrived at Parliament Hill in the dusk... city lights in misty air... a dozen people doing press-ups to the orders of a trainer... they all wear red t-shirts bearing large numerals...
battery low... i decide to stop......
after return:
...this walk from edge to edge... from north to south...
...at first barely able to walk... but gradually recovered...
...as rested ...and then walked swiftly... in natural surroundings...
eventually calling at a supermarket...
and then... inside the number 13 bus...
someone i've met before comes to sit opposite...
it's Peter... a software design student...
we previously met at the highest seat...
overlooking the Vale of Health... (see digital diary 17 july 2012)
...as we talked i missed the bus stop...
and had to return on another bus...
to where i normally get out...
and now i'm editing this at midnight... glad that it's done... and glad of the coincidence...
