9 august 2015 in a hidden valley

...digesting some of the season's blackberries... to little sound but that of a distant motorcycle... in a hidden valley in which as yet i see no one...

...but now here come three men talking loudly... who disappear in a minute or two... as i listen to the siren of an emergency vehicle climbing the hill behind me... after which stillness again returns...

...and now a tall person in blue passes silently through the valley... while pausing now and then to gather blackberries (or something)...

...after a day of rest and contemplation i realise how recreative is writing about events as they happen... without thought of the significance of everything... and how it is helped by the conscious choice of city forest... and the random selection of these places at which to stop and write...

...a man in a t-shirt walks by... he is following a Japanese-Husky-like dog on a long lead... both man and dog seem to be guided by whatever attracts the dog from one odour to another...

...and now the light begins to fade and i pause before leaving... while a woman walks slowly by as she speaks to a mobile phone held out before her...

...and now she is gone and stillness returns... and i return along randomly chosen pathways that lead me through unfamiliar streets to a bus stop near Whitestone Pond...

...on the way i see a Germanic-looking building that i'd like to visit in daylight...
