19 october 2018 a possible explanation . . .
This should be the basis for a new thing . . .
It may be that much of this material is too difficult to take in but
possible to write. It may be that being able to write such a thing one needs to be attentive . . . to the situation, to the new things people are doing and saying, to what the environment is saying and doing of itself . . .
I lost the track here . . .
But now I have regained it when I realise when I wrote hundreds of sentences derived from Hamstead Heath, the city forest. I was able by the simple action of avoiding interfering thoughts. I was able to admit in such thoughts to the writing directly. In this way that what I wrote did not go through the conscious mind but even more directly in the imaginative jump.
What I am trying to say . . . that new thinking can often jump from surroundings to paper or writing . . . which has not been through a conscious thought and derives its strength to giving up a rationality on its own.
In this, I am reminded of the way surroundings appeared as a fairy land
. . . or from an aircraft, the magical surroundings from the city
beneath . . .
