17 april 2019 1 earth: solid substance
the most reassuring of the elements . . . white and cold . . . the most
real and yet imaginary in
that its solidity and continuity and association with rightness and
common sense are all illusions as are the other qualities of elements .
. .
earth
in my thoughts the earth is in opposition to my existence . . . in that
it is a container of the dead (if one accepts that illusion which i
dont) . . . this is paradoxical . . .
a thought flashed through my mind . . . i realise that the quantity and
size of earthly things is great . . . indeed maybe the sources of
greatness in all senses of the word . . .
these moments even if empty of content will i hope prolong the time life
in which the earth and all that is on it takes place . . .
(this is a difficult one)
