30 june 2020 a new social reality


zoom zoom what is it? . . . that is a question that i have tried to answer in the last few days . . . i was invited to a zoom meeting or conversation (to celebrate my sister's 90th anniversary). . . a way of speaking together not as separated individuals but as one of several who are making a new kind of connection between each other . . .

a new development of the internet . . . it seems to consist of several people linked by a new bit of software that transforms them from obedience to convention and the acceptance of command . . . i am reminded here of the fact that a computer program is a series of commands . . . not easily spoken or written by mouth or hand . . .

i have yet to experience zoom in its new mannerism and its possibility of doing something better . . . at this virtual meeting i was completely convinced that i was at the place where my sister lives and not in my own place or any place where i happen to be . . .

each one takes turn as responding to the leader . . . who is not a leader and is called here by the presbyterian name of the non conformist of the northern renaissance . . . the moderator . . .

these are only fragmentary impressions of what it is like to speak for oneself and one's thoughts . . .

i am going to stop to read what i said so far and is turning into writing . . . in all its formal difference . . .

i am ready to start again by mentioning the role of the moderator in which he directs the conversation formerly but not factually . . . this concept has a philosophical effect of a new awareness . . . this last interchange leads us i believe to the beginning or the restart of recreative democracy . . .
