24 july 2020 thoughts about thoughts


for many years that were the words i used to talk about thoughts and philosophy . . . but now i wonder . . . the two are the same in many ways . . . thought one and thought two . . . it does not matter to me if they are the same in any way . . . for the interesting fact is that each is about the other or can be . . . and that i think is why people use it in a dispiriting manner . . . whereas it is actually self referential and fascinating . . .

. . . present thoughts of this moment catch on the fictional . . . the whole idea of philosophy is somewhat imaginary . . . is it not? . . . and yet it is taken to be something to be realistic and serious and . . . and . . . and . . . i am not qualified to fill in the blanks . . . i guess just a few of us are . . .

the phrase i like better is . . . (I have forgotten the words)

it does remind me that philosophy is written and not spoken . . . but i would like to return to making philosophy the same two things . . . one about the other . . . for that is the charm . . . amen
