28 august 2020 beyond humanism


. . . these two words together arouse a thought of having struck a point in the next culture . . . the idea of the future culture being already fixed is itself dubious . . . the making of ologies is a questionable activity . . . not founded in reality nor in imagination . . . i infer that all such thinking is invalid . . . at least to me . . .

. . . what is this that sounds more sensible and also more imaginative . . . and more inspiring?

. . . to pose the question is in part to answer it . . . so strongly grounded in our beliefs at present . . . but nevertheless being already discussed and even accepted as an absence of belief in weak political theologies and philosophies . . .

let us hope that these vague thoughts are sufficient to push our ideas in some more concrete direction and one which would please many of us presently questioning the prevailing menu . . . as in many menu-driven computings . . .

taking wide curved steps away from nervous narrowness and fear . . .
