history of the website:

version 1.0... 1999 to 2001 and beyond
softopia began as a way of putting online my handwritten journal... before the days of blogs... this includes the wheelchair of my aunt, a story of designing by users... and the life and death of my Auntie Betty (Elizabeth Jenkin-Jones)... and much else re imaginary software that is still a long way ahead of what has emerged in softopia so far...

version 2.2... 2001 to 2007 and beyond
the next version included the digital diary (written outdoors on a handheld computer), a-z parts of a culture, and the newsletter daffodil, and numerous chapters (even unpublished volumes) of the electric book

a rough transition to version 3.0... 2007 to 2009 and beyond
after dropping and breaking the handheld there was a year or so of transition and review... during which i changed to a new laptop and the ipod touch handheld computer...
